Compositions and methods are provided for inhibiting the expression of human tumor necrosis factor-.alpha. (TNF-.alpha.). Antisense oligonucleotides targeted to nucleic acids encoding TNF-.alpha. are preferred. Methods of using these oligonucleotides for inhibition of TNF-.alpha. expression and for treatment of diseases, particularly inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, associated with overexpression of TNF-.alpha. are provided.
L'invention se rapporte à des compositions et des procédés pour inhiber l'expression du facteur de nécrose tumorale alpha (TNF-alpha). Des oligonucléotides antisens ciblés sur des acides nucléiques codant le TNF-alpha sont préférés. On décrit des procédés d'utilisation desdits oligonucléotides pour inhiber l'expression du TNF-alpha et pour traiter des maladies, notamment des maladies inflammatoires ou auto-immunes, associées à la surexpresssion du TNF-alpha.
