Oligonucleotides are provided having a nucleotide sequence complementary to at least a portion of the mRNA transcript of the STK-1 gene. These "antisense" oligonucleotides are hybridizable to the STK-1 mRNA transcript. Such oligonucleotides are useful in treating neoplastic diseases characterized by activation of STK-1 gene expression. The oligonucleotides are also useful as bone marrow purging agents in the treatment of 1eukemia and metastasized neoplasms.
L'invention concerne des oligonucléotides ayant une séquence nucléotidique complémentaire d'au moins une partie du transcrit d'ARNm du gène STK-1. Ces oligonucléotides "anti-sens" peuvent être hybridés au transcrit d'ARNm du gène STK-1. Les oligonucléotides de ce type s'utilisent dans le traitement de maladies néoplasiques caractérisées par l'activation de l'expression du gène STK-1. Ces oligonucléotides s'utilisent également comme agents de purge médullaire osseuse dans le traitement de la leucémie et de néoplasmes métastasés.
