ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a compound useful as an antistatic agent for finishing thermoplastic materials, said compound having the general formula, I. Image wherein each of R and R1 is a saturated alkyl substituent, whereby the sum of the carbonatoms of the two alkyl substituents being between 4 and 30, or R or R1 may be hydrogen, R2 is hydrogen, or when R3 being hydrogen, is a substituent of the formula: Image where n is a number from 1 to 10, R3 is hydrogen, or when R2 being hydrogen, is a substituent of the formula: Image where n is a number from 1 to 10, R4 is hydrogen or the methyl group provided that when R4 is hydrogen n is at least 2.
