ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Brushlike materials comprising fibers embedded in or adhesively secured to a carrier layer are used for treating or finishing surfaces or as support means on transporting surfaces. It has been found that the application of a liquid coating layer of an antistatic composition comprising a fluorinated anionic surfactant and a nonionic antistatic agent improves the performance of the brushlike materials.
