The surface resistivity of polycarbonate resin is reduced and thus the antistatic properties improved by the inclusion of esters of branched fatty acids and polyhydroxylic compounds having at least one and desirably at least two free hydroxyl groups e.g. glycerol mono-iso-stearate. The reduction in surface resistivity can be achieved without a significant increase in haze or yellowness.
La résistivité superficielle d'une résine de polycarbonate est réduite, et par conséquent ses propriétés antistatiques sont améliorées par l'inclusion d'esters d'acides gras ramifiés et de composés polyhydroxylés possédant au moins un, et de préférence au moins deux groupes hydroxyle libres, p. ex. du glycérol mono-iso-stéarate. La réduction de la résistivité superficielle peut être obtenue sans augmentation sensible du voilage ou du jaunissement.
