ABSTRACT The present invention refers to an antitheft system for electronic apparatus which emulates a key-lock assembly and is very reliable, besides presenting low production costs and being particularly suitable for protecting radio sets and cassette players of automobiles and other electronic appara- tus. This antitheft system comprises an electronic key, an electronic connection means therefor and an electronic lock having a theft detection device. The operation of this system relies upon the comparison of electrical, magnetic, digital, light, etc. signals generated in or through said key and said lock. The protection results from the enablement or disenablement of essential functions and/or conections of the apparatus to be protected.
