An antithrombotic containing dermatan sulfate or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof (DS) as the active ingredient. The use of a DS derived from a crest or a disaccharide component thereof having a .DELTA.Di-OS value of at least 3 % or a molecular weight of at least 25 thousand serves to maintain an effective blood level for long and conduct efficiently thrombus dilation or prevention. When used together with a tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA), DS can accelerate remarkably thrombolysis and reduce the amount of t- PA used. This drug is useful for treating and preventing various types of thrombosis such as myocardial infarct and disseminated intravascular coagulation syndrome. Further it can inhibit blood coagulation in extracorporeal circulation such as renal dialysis.

Antithrombotique dont le principe actif est du dermatane-sulfate ou un sel pharmacologiquement acceptable de celui-ci (SD). L'utilisation d'un SD dérivé d'une crête ou d'un composant disaccharide de celui-ci, dont la valeur .DELTA.Di-OS est de 3 % au moins et qui a un poids moléculaire de 25000 au moins, sert à maintenir un taux sanguin efficace pendant une longue durée et à réaliser efficacement la dilatation ou la prévention des thrombus. Utilisé avec un activateur du plasminogène tissulaire (t-PA), le SD peut remarquablement accélérer la thrombolyse et réduire la quantité de t-PA utilisée. Ce médicament est utile pour traiter et prévenir divers types de thromboses tels que l'infarctus du myocarde et le syndrome de coagulation intravasculaire disséminée. Il peut en outre inhiber la coagulation sanguine dans la circulation extracorporelle, par exemple dans les dialyses rénales.
