ABSTRACT This invention is concerned with certain triphenylimidazoles compounds of formula (I) Image (I) in which R and R' are identical or different and may be hydrogen;a lower alkyl having 1 to 4 carbons; phenyl; phenyl substituted with one or more lower alkyl groups having from 1 to 4 carbons, lower alkoxy groups having from 1 to 4 carbons or halogen atoms, e.g. Br or Cl; phenylalkyl (optionally substituted on the phenyl ring with one or more lower alkyl groups having from 1 to 4 carbons, lower alkoxy groups having 1 to 4 carbons or halogen atoms, e.g. Br or Cl); or taken together from a cyclic substituent of 5 or 6 members containing in addition to the nitrogen atom an optional second hetero atom selected from the groups consisting of oxygen, nitrogen and sulfur. This invention is also taken to include the acid addition salts and solvates of the compounds of formula (I). These compounds are useful as antithrombotic, antiinflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic agents.
