There are provided novel antitussive agents different from existing antitussive agents or those under development. Antitussive agents containing morphinan derivatives represented by compound 6: Image or pharmacologically acceptable acid-addition salts thereof and those derivatives or their salts as effective components. The antitussive agents according to the present invention have strong antitussive effects as highly selective ?-opioid agonists, and may thus be applied as useful antitussive agents.

Dans ladite formule le symbole . &cir& _. &cir& _. &cir& _ représente une liaison simple ou double; R<1> représente alkyle, cycloalkylalkyle, cycloalcénylalkyle, aryle, aralkyle, alcényle, allyle, furan-2-ylalkyle ou thiophène-2-ylalkyle; R<2> représente hydrogène, hydroxy, nitro, alcanoyloxy, alcoxy, alkyle ou -NR<9>R<10>, où R<9> et R<10>, indépendamment l'un de l'autre, représentent hydrogène, etc.; R<3> représente hydrogène, hydroxy, alcanoyloxy ou alcoxy; A représente -XC(=Y)-, -XC(=Y)Z-, -X-, -XSO2- ou -OC(OR<4>)R<4>-, où X, Y et Z représentent chacun indépendamment NR<4> (où R<4> représente hydrogène, etc.), S ou O; B représente une liaison de valence, alkylène, etc., hydrocarbure insaturé acyclique, etc.; R<5> représente hydrogène, un cycle benzénique, etc.; R<6> et R<7>, indépendamment l'un de l'autre, représentent hydrogène, etc., ou pris ensemble représentent -O-, -CH2-, -S-, etc.; et R<8> représente hydrogène, alkyle ou alcanoyle.
