An anvil assembly for use with a surgical stapler is provided. The anvil assembly includes a cut ring assembly having a body and a cover. The cover has a first layer of material having a first hardness to allow penetration by a knife of a surgical stapler and at least one additional layer of material having a second hardness greater than the first hardness to minimize penetration of the cover by a knife of a surgical stapler.

Cette invention concerne un ensemble enclume destiné à être utilisé avec une agrafeuse chirurgicale. Cet ensemble enclume comprend un ensemble bague découpée comportant un corps et un couvercle. Le couvercle comprend une première couche de matériau présentant une première dureté permettant à un couteau d'une agrafeuse chirurgicale de pénétrer dans ledit couvercle ainsi qu'au moins une couche supplémentaire de matériau présentant une deuxième dureté supérieure à la première permettant de réduire au minimum la pénétration d'une couteau d'un agrafeuse chirurgicale dans le couvercle.
