An infra-annular annuloplasty prosthesis is disclosed including a flexibly semi-rigid frame, a portion of which is shaped to conform to the scalloped configuration of the nor-mal circumference of an arterial heart valve annulus. Axially projecting legs spaced circumferentially to correspond to the location of tissue adjacent to the valve commissures are pro-vided for support and anchoring of the annulus-conforming portion to the dense fibrous tissues adjacent each commissure. The prosthesis includes a one- or two-part frame having scal-loped upper and lower edges defining peaks and valleys. The upper edge is shaped to follow the contour of the tissue un-derneath the valve leaflets, and thus supports the leaflets and aortic wall from below. The lower edge is similarly scal-lop-shaped, but with less pronounced peaks and valleys than the upper edge, and is thus shaped to conform to the aortic annulus shape and provide support directly thereto.
La présente invention concerne une prothèse pour annuloplastie infra-annulaire comprenant un cadre semi-rigide élastique, une partie de ce dernier étant conçue pour se conformer à la configuration échancrée de la circonférence normale d'un anneau de valvule cardiaque artérielle. Des bras en projection axiale espacés de manière circonférentielle afin de correspondre à l'emplacement du tissu adjacent aux commissures de la valvule servent au support et à l'ancrage de la partie se conformant à l'anneau sur des tissus fibreux denses à proximité de chaque commissure. La prothèse comprend un cadre constitué d'une ou de deux pièces présentant des bords supérieur et inférieur échancrés définissant des crêtes et des creux. Le bord supérieur est conçu pour s'adapter au contour du tissu sous les valvules, et supporter ainsi lesdites valvules et la paroi aortique à partir du dessous. Le bord inférieur est échancré de manière similaire, mais les crêtes et les creux sont moins marqués que sur le bord supérieur. De ce fait, le bord inférieur est conçu pour s'adapter à la forme de l'anneau aortique et pour directement lui servir de support.
