An apparatus and a method for facilitating paging of a mobile station that is capable of being paged upon at least a fist paging channel. In one of many embodiments, a bit sequence provider provides a first group of bits. The first group of bits is altered to form an altered group of bits if the first group of bits equals a reserved group of bits. A first page message is generated. The first page message includes the altered group of buts, if formed, and otherwise includes the first group of bits.
