A device to access a desired tissue site within a patient's body and separate a tissue specimen from the tissue site. The device includes a probe member having a tissue penetrating distal tip having a plurality of concaved surfaces which form curved cutting edges at the intersection of adjacent concave surfaces. The probe member has an inner lumen which when subjected to a vacuum, secures tissue for the specimen to the surface of a distal tubular section of the probe which may be off-set from a central longitudinal axis. A circular tissue-cutting blade is configured to move longitudinally to sever a tissue specimen from tissue secured to the surface of the distal tubular section by the application of a vacuum to the inner lumen of the probe.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif permettant d'accéder à un site tissulaire recherché au sein de l'organisme d'un patient et, également, de prélever un échantillon de tissu au niveau dudit site tissulaire. Ce dispositif comprend un élément de type sonde comportant une extrémité distale capable de pénétrer dans un tissu et possédant une pluralité de surfaces concaves formant des bords tranchants incurvés à l'intersection de leurs surfaces adjacentes. L'élément de type sonde possède une lumière interne qui peut être mise sous vide, ce qui assure la fixation du tissu de l'échantillon à la surface d'une section tubulaire distale de la sonde qui peut être déportée par rapport à un axe longitudinal central. Une lame circulaire de découpe des tissus est conçue pour se mouvoir de façon longitudinale de façon à séparer un échantillon tissulaire du tissu fixé à la surface de la section tubulaire distale par application d'un vide dans la lumière interne de la sonde.
