A chuck assembly (10) comprises a housing (12) defining a longitudinal axis and having a first end (13). A plurality of pins (34) extend substantially parallel with the axis from the first end (13). The plurality of pins (34) is located at a first radius (38) relative to the axis. At least one of the pins is operable to move from the first radius to a second radius (39), relative to the axis. The chuck assembly also includes a means (16, 26) for moving at least one pin between the first radius and the second radius. A prime mover provides the necessary drive to the means for moving. The chuck assembly (10) may be used in combination with various other components to form combinations or systems. A method of labeling a container is also disclosed.

L'invention concerne un ensemble mandrin (10) comprenant un boîtier (12) définissant un axe longitudinal et présentant une première extrémité (13). Une pluralité de broches (34) s'étendent sensiblement parallèles par rapport à l'axe depuis la première extrémité (13). La pluralité de broches (34) se trouve au niveau du premier rayon par rapport à l'axe. Au moins une des broches peut s'éloigner du premier rayon vers un second rayon (15) par rapport à l'axe. L'ensemble mandrin comporte également des moyens (16, 26) de déplacement d'au moins une broche entre le premier rayon et le second rayon. Un moteur d'entraînement permet de déplacer les moyens en leur assurant l'entraînement nécessaire.
