ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus and method for attaching a fitment [13] to a web of film [20] in a form, fill, and seal packaging machine is provided. The apparatus includes a press for orienting the fitments [13] on one side of a web of film [20], and a film piercer and sealer [10]. The film piercer and sealer [10] includes a heated face [36] and tip [32] and is designed to contemporaneously pierce and seal of web of film [20] to the fitment [13].
