ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION Apparatus and method for automatically securing borderwires on mattress innersprings, com- prising support means for receiving borderwires and a mattress innerspring in stacked, properly oriented relation to one another. Adjustable alignment means is provided for enabling the apparatus to accommodate the dimensions of substantially any mattress inner- spring. Power driven means is provided for automatical- ly sequentially advancing the borderwires and the mattress innerspring along the support means to a clip wrapping station where a plurality of clips are simultaneously wrapped on the borderwires and the coils of the mattress innerspring. Control means is provided for sensing when clips are to be wrapped, and when a predetermined number of clips have been wrapped on each side and each end of borderwires and the mattress innerspring.
