An apparatus for welding the interior surface of a tube includes a laser welding probe body (600d) configured for positioning within an interior surface of a tube. A centering mechanism relying upon fluid pressure is used to substantially center the laser welding probe body within an annular void (534) defined between the laser welding probe body and the interior surface of the tube. In one embodiment, the centering mechanism is implemented with a set of seals (532). In another embodiment, the centering mechanism is implemented with a set of centering balls (608a) that respond to the fluid pressure and thereby operate to center the laser welding probe body within the annular void (534). The fluid pressure may be created with a shielding gas used during the laser welding operation.
Ce dispositif permettant de souder la surface interne d'un tube comporte un corps de sonde de soudage au laser (600d) configuré pour venir se placer près de la surface interne du tube. On utilise un mécanisme de centrage faisant intervenir une pression fluidique pour quasiment centrer le corps de sonde de soudage au laser dans un espace annulaire (534) délimité par le corps de sonde de soudage au laser et la surface interne du tube. Dans une réalisation, le mécanisme de centrage consiste en un ensemble de joints (532), dans une autre il est réalisé à l'aide d'un ensemble de billes de centrage (608a) réagissant à la pression fluidique et concourant, de ce fait, au centrage du corps de sonde de soudage au laser dans l'espace annulaire (534). La pression fluidique peut être produite par du gaz de protection utilisé durant le soudage au laser.
