An apparatus is provided for cleaning poultry carcasses (20) having a cavity. A plurality of cleaning heads (80) are spaced about a sprayer carousel (50) that is rotatably mounted upon a vertical shaft (15). The cleaning heads are mounted upon a plurality of vertically oriented guide rails (54) which are spaced about the sprayer carousel. A circumferential cam (70) is fixedly connected to the vertical shaft inside the sprayer carousel. A cam follower (120) connected to each cleaning head follows the profile of the cam, displacing the cleaning head vertically along the guide rails. A conveyor transports the carcasses sequentially into and out of engagement with the sprayer carousel and an indexing member (58) maintains each of the carcasses in alignment with one of the cleaning heads. In response to relative movement between the fixed cam and the rotatable sprayer carousel the cam follower of each cleaning head follows the circumferential profile of the cam. In this way each cleaning head is inserted into the internal cavity of the carcass where the probe is maintained for a dwell period before being withdrawn from the internal cavity.
L'invention concerne un appareil pour nettoyer des carcasses (20) de poulets ouvertes, une pluralité de têtes de nettoyage (80) sont disposées sur le pourtour d'un carrousel pulvérisateur (50) qui est monté en rotation sur un arbre vertical (15). Les têtes de nettoyage sont montées sur une pluralité de rails de guidage (54) orientés verticalement et espacés autour du carrousel pulvérisateur, une came circonférentielle (70) est montée d'une manière fixe à l'arbre vertical, à l'intérieur du carrousel pulvérisateur. Une contre-came (120) reliée à chaque tête de nettoyage suit le profil de la came, en déplaçant la tête de nettoyage verticalement suivant des rails de guidage. Un transporteur achemine les carcasses l'une après l'autre vers le carrousel pulvérisateur et hors de celui-ci et un dispositif d'alignement (58) maintient chaque carcasse alignée avec une des têtes de nettoyage. En réponse au mouvement relatif entre la came fixe et le carrousel pulvérisateur rotatif, la contre-came de chaque tête de nettoyage suit le profil circonférentiel de la came. De cette manière chaque tête de nettoyage est insérée dans la cavité interne de la carcasse où elle est maintenue pendant un certain temps, avant d'en être retirée.
