The present invention provides a method and apparatus for collecting and detecting light emitted from a plurality of light-emitting elements. The light- emitting elements are grouped into two or more clusters of one or more light- emitting elements with the clusters arranged such that a portion of the light emitted from each cluster is directly incident upon a central axis, wherein every point along the central axis is equidistant from each cluster. A light collection means also having a central axis associated therewith is placed such that the central axis of the clusters and the central axis of the collection means coincide. The light collection means collects a substantially equal portion of light from each cluster and propagates the collected light to a detection means comprising an optical sensor for conversion to an electrical signal representative of the light emitted by the clusters. The electrical signal provided by the light detection means may be fed back to a controller for use in controlling the properties of the light emitted by the light- emitting elements.
La présente invention décrit un procédé et un appareil pour recueillir et détecter de la lumière émise par une pluralité d'éléments électroluminescents. Les éléments électroluminescents sont regroupés en deux grappes ou plus d'un ou plusieurs éléments électroluminescents, les grappes étant agencées de sorte qu'une partie de la lumière émise par chaque grappe soit directement incidente sur un axe central, chaque point de l'axe central étant équidistant de chaque grappe. Un moyen de recueil de la lumière également associé à un axe central est placé de sorte que l'axe central des grappes et le sien coïncident. Le moyen de recueil de la lumière recueille une partie sensiblement égale de lumière de chaque grappe et propage la lumière recueillie sur un moyen de détection comprenant un capteur optique, à des fins de conversion en signal électrique représentatif de la lumière émise par les grappes. Le signal électrique fourni par le moyen de détection de la lumière peut être renvoyé à un contrôleur pour être utilisé lors du contrôle des propriétés de la lumière émise par les éléments électroluminescents.
