A method, apparatus, and system for compensating for lamp lumen depreciation. The method includes operating the lamp (10) under rated wattage for a period towards the first part of operating life of the lamp. Operating wattage is increased at one or more later times. Energy savings are realized. The increases also restore at least some light lost by lamp lumen depreciation. The apparatus (25) uses a timer (100) to track operating time of the lamp (10). A few wattage changes made at spaced apart times can be made in a number of ways, including changing capacitance to the lamp (10), or using different taps on the lamp ballast.
La présente invention concerne un procédé, un appareil et un système qui permettent de compenser la dépréciation du flux lumineux d'une lampe. Le procédé consiste à faire fonctionner la lampe (10) à une puissance nominale sur une certaine période pendant la première partie de la durée de vie utile de la lampe. La puissance de fonctionnement en watts est augmentée au moins une fois par la suite. Des économies d'énergie sont réalisées. Les augmentations rétablissent également au moins une partie de la lumière perdue par la dépréciation du flux lumineux. L'appareil (25) utilise une horloge (100) pour comptabiliser la durée de fonctionnement de la lampe (10). Quelques changements de la puissance en watts effectués à des moments espacés peuvent être réalisés de diverses manières, y compris par le changement de la capacité de la lampe (10) ou au moyen de différents branchements prévus sur le ballast de la lampe.
