A B S T R A C T A two-conductor electric cable extending between the airgun and the firing control is used for passing firing signals to the gun and for measuring the actual moment that the gun fires. At each firing, the impedance of the cable is (at the side of the gun) varied (e.g. by switching a resistance parallel to the solenoid of the airgun value), and the moment of firing is measured (at the side of the firing control) by measuring the time span between the firing signal and the impedance variation.
