A method and apparatus for delivering biomass fuel to a structure through an external wall of the structure is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a hopper (19) disposed within a delivery vehicle (12). The hopper includes an inlet disposed on its top surface (22) to receive biomass fuel and an outlet located proximate the bottom (23) of the hopper to release the fuel by opening a gate valve. A delivery hose (31) is connected to the hopper outlet at one end and is sealably connectable at its other end to an externally accessible coupling disposed on an external wall of the structure to which fuel is to be delivered. The coupling is connected on the interior side of the external wall to a delivery pipe that connects to a fuel bin for storing the biomass fuel. Sensors within the bin can signal the operator when the level of fuel within the bin reaches a preselected level, allowing the operator to stop delivery when the bin is full.
La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un appareil permettant de distribuer un biocarburant à une structure à travers une paroi externe de la structure. L'appareil selon l'invention comprend une trémie disposée à l'intérieur d'un véhicule de distribution. Ladite trémie possède un orifice d'entrée, placé sur sa surface supérieure et destiné à recevoir le biocarburant, et un orifice de sortie, situé à proximité du fond de la trémie et destiné à libérer le carburant par l'ouverture d'un robinet-vanne. Un tuyau de distribution est relié, au niveau de l'une de ses extrémités, à l'orifice de sortie de la trémie, et peut être relié de manière hermétique, au niveau de son autre extrémité, à un raccord accessible par l'extérieur disposé sur une paroi externe de la structure à laquelle le carburant doit être distribué. Le raccord est relié, sur le côté intérieur de la paroi externe, à un conduit de distribution connecté à un compartiment à combustible destiné à stocker le biocarburant. Des capteurs situés dans ledit compartiment peuvent transmettre un signal à l'opérateur lorsque le niveau de carburant dans le compartiment atteint un niveau présélectionné, ce qui permet audit opérateur d'arrêter la distribution lorsque le compartiment est plein.
