An apparatus and method for determining an optimum modulation scheme and code rate in a communication system using a variable transmission scheme. In a transmitter included in the communication system, an encoder encodes an encoder packet (EP) and a plurality of modulators having different modulation orders modulate sub-packets being codewords output from the encoder. A selector selects one of the modulators by comparing an MPR (Modulation order Product code Rate) being a ratio of an EP size to a number of payload modulation symbols, and comparing the MPR with a threshold.
L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé de détermination d'un schéma de modulation optimale et un taux de code dans un système de communication au moyen d'un schéma de transmission variable. Dans un émetteur-récepteur compris dans le système de communication, un dispositif de codage code un paquet (EP) de codeur et plusieurs modulateurs dotés de divers ordres de modulation qui modulent des sous-paquets étant des mots de code produits par le dispositif de codage. Un sélecteur sélectionne l'un des modulateurs en comparant un MPR (ordre de Modulation code Produit Taux) étant le taux d'une taille de paquet (EP) de codeur à un nombre de symboles de modulation de payload et comparant le MPR à un seuil.
