An apparatus, and an associated method, for directing communications of a communication session to a selected communication device, or devices, of a group of commonly-registered devices. A device-direction policy is created and stored at a network entity . The policy identifies preferred devices to which communications of a communication session are to be provided. A SIP Invite, or other communication- session initiation message, is provided to the network entity. The network entity detects the message, accesses the policy, and forwards on the message in accordance with the policy.

La présente invention concerne un appareil et un procédé associé permettant de diriger des communications d'une session de communication vers un ou plusieurs dispositifs de communication sélectionnés d'un groupe de dispositifs enregistrés de façon commune. Une politique de direction de dispositif est créée et enregistrée au niveau d'une entité de réseau. La politique identifie des dispositifs préférés auxquels des communications d'une session de communication doivent être attribuées. Une invitation SIP ou un autre message d'ouverture de session de communication est fourni à l'entité de réseau.
