The invention relates generally to the field of automated collection and deposition of fluid, semi-solid, and solid samples of biological or chemical materials. More specifically, the invention relates to the field of microarrayers, which are devices for autonomously depositing minute droplets of biological or chemical fluid samples in ordered arrays onto substrates. The invention also relates to tissue arrayers, which are devices for the collection and deposition of solid and semi-solid tissue samples in ordered arrays. Other aspects of the invention relate to fluidics robots, which are devices for the autonomous collection, dispensing and processing of biological or chemical fluid samples. The invention improves the throughput of microarrayers, tissue arrayers, and fluidics robots by providing methods and apparatuses to precisely and repeatably load supplies into the machines.
L'invention concerne, d'une manière générale, les recueil et dépôt automatisés d'échantillons fluides, semi-solides et solides de substances biologiques ou chimiques. Plus précisément, l'invention concerne des micro-jeux ordonnés d'échantillons, soit des dispositifs permettant de déposer de manière autonome des micro-gouttelettes d'échantillons fluides biologiques ou chimiques dans des jeux ordonnés d'échantillons sur des substrats. L'invention concerne également des jeux ordonnés d'échantillons de tissus, soit des dispositifs destinés au recueil et au dépôt d'échantillons de tissus solides et semi-solides dans des jeux ordonnés d'échantillons. D'autres modes de réalisation de l'invention concernent des robots fluidiques, lesquels sont des dispositifs destinés au recueil, à la distribution et au traitement autonomes d'échantillons fluides biologiques et chimiques. Les procédés et appareils selon l'invention permettent d'améliorer le débit de micro-jeux ordonnés d'échantillons, de jeux ordonnés d'échantillons de tissus et de robots fluidiques, du fait que ceux-ci permettent de charger de manière précise et répétée des approvisionnements dans les machines.
