56,206 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus and method for processing information from a plurality of data lines having amplitude and frequency components representative of operating conditions within a turbine generator unit includes circuitry for determining the frequency of each data line in the frequency spectrum, for squaring the determined frequency of each data line, and for calculating an acceleration index as a function of the amplitude and square of the frequency. The calculated acceleration index is transmitted to a host computer where it is analyzed to determine if the data lines contain information indicative of abnormal conditions in the turbine generator unit.
