A connector comprises an adapter housing coupled to a connector housing. An adapter insert has a first cavity formed therein. The first cavity is shaped to at least partially restrain motion in a first lateral axis of a flat cable placed therein. An apparatus for connecting a flat cable to an electrical connector comprises an adapter housing. An adapter insert has a first cavity shaped to at least partially restrain motion in a first lateral axis of a flat cable placed therein. An elastomer spring element is disposed in a second cavity in the adapter insert. The elastomer spring element imparts a squeeze on the flat cable at least partially restraining motion of the flat cable in a second lateral axis substantially orthogonal to the first lateral axis.
L'invention concerne un connecteur qui comprend un boîtier d'adaptateur couplé à un boîtier de connecteur. Un insert d'adaptateur possède une première cavité formée à l'intérieur de celui-ci. Cette première cavité est mise en forme de façon à au moins partiellement limiter le déplacement dans un premier axe latéral d'un câble plat placé dans celle-ci. Un appareil permettant de connecter un câble plat à un connecteur électrique comprend un boîtier d'adaptateur. Un insert d'adaptateur possède une première cavité mise en forme de façon à au moins partiellement limiter le déplacement dans un premier axe latéral d'un câble plat placé à l'intérieur de celle-ci. Un élément ressort en élastomère est placé dans une seconde cavité dans l'insert d'adaptateur. Cet élément ressort en élastomère imprime une compression sur le câble plat, limitant au moins partiellement le déplacement de ce câble plat dans un second axe latéral sensiblement perpendiculaire au premier axe latéral.
