A probe assembly samples fluid from a wellbore penetrating a subsurface formation having a virgin fluid therein beyond a layer of contaminated fluid surrounding the wellbore. The probe assembly includes a probe body extendable from a downhole tool, and a packer carried by the probe body and having a distal surface adapted for sealingly engaging the wellbore. The packer has an outer and inner periphery, with the inner periphery being defined by a bore through the packer. The packer is further equipped with channel(s) formed in the distal surface and arranged to define an annular cleanup intake intermediate the inner and outer peripheries. The passageway(s) extend(s) through the packer for conducting virgin fluid and/or contaminated fluid between the channel(s). A sampling tube is sealingly disposed in the bore of the packer for conducting virgin fluid to a second inlet in the probe body and the downhole tool.
La présente concerne un ensemble de sonde qui sert à prélever des échantillons de fluide d'un trou de forage et pénètre une formation sous la surface qui contient un fluide intact, sous une couche de fluide contaminé qui entoure le trou de forage. L'ensemble de sonde comprend les éléments suivants : un bâti de sonde télescopable, ainsi qu'une garniture d'étanchéité fixée sur le bâti de sonde et munie d'une surface distale conçue pour se loger dans le trou de forage et l'obturer. La garniture d'étanchéité comporte un rebord externe et interne, le rebord interne étant délimité par le trou pratiqué dans la garniture. La garniture d'étanchéité est aussi pourvue de canalisation(s) aménagée(s) sur la surface distale et disposée(s) de manière à produire un orifice d'admission annulaire logé entre les rebords interne et externe. Les canalisations traversent la garniture d'étanchéité et servent à faire passer le fluide intact ou le fluide contaminé entre les canalisations. Un tube d'échantillonnage est disposé de manière étanche dans le trou de la garniture d'étanchéité et sert à évacuer le fluide intact vers un deuxième orifice d'admission dans le bâti de la sonde et l'outil de fond de trou.
