An apparatus and method for infusing flavors into cereal grains and agglomerating the grains into a unitary food product. Grains of cereal, powdered soluble and/or insoluble flavors and a moisturizing liquid are supplied to a mixer (28). The flavors, liquid and cereal grains are thoroughly mixed and the grains surface moisturized and then discharged into a product-forming chamber (72) formed by the side walls of a chamber plate (70) and the product forming cavity of a vertically reciprocable stack assembly (86) which is ultrasonically energized for a sufficient period of time so that the flavors are infused within the interiors of the grains which are agglomerated into a unitary product.
La présente invention concerne un appareil et un procédé permettant d'introduire des arômes dans des grains de céréales et d'agglomérer les grains en un produit alimentaire unitaire. On introduit des grains de céréales, des arômes en poudre solubles et/ou insolubles et un liquide hydratant dans un mélangeur. Les arômes, les grains de céréales et le liquide sont soigneusement mélangés et la surface des grains est hydratée, puis les grains sont évacués dans une chambre de fabrication (72) de produit formée par les parois latérales d'une plaque (70) de chambre et par la cavité de fabrication de produit d'un ensemble (86) empilé à mouvement de va-et-vient vertical stimulé par ultrasons pendant une durée suffisante pour que les arômes pénètrent à l'intérieur des grains qui sont agglomérés en un produit unitaire.
