An apparatus and related process for enhancement of woven and knit fabrics through use of dynamic fluids which entangle and bloom fabric yarns. A two stage enhancement process is employed in which top and bottom sides of the fabric are respectively supported on members and impacted with a fluid curtain including high pressure jet streams. Controlled process energies and use of support members having open areas which are aligned in offset relation to the process line produces fabrics having a uniform finish and improved characteristics including, edge fray, drape, stability, abrasion resistance, fabric weight and thickness.

La présente invention concerne un procédé destiné à améliorer la fabrication de tissés et de tricots ainsi que le dispositif associé. Le procédé de cette invention, qui se déroule en deux étapes, fait intervenir un fluide pour démêler et velouter les fils du tissu. Les faces supérieure et inférieure du tissu sont appuyées sur des supports respectifs et soumises à l'action d'un rideau de fluide comportant des jets sous haute pression. Le réglage de la pression du fluide et l'emploi de supports présentant des ouvertures décalées dans le sens d'avancement du tissu permettent d'obtenir un fini uniforme et d'améliorer les caractéristiques du tissu, notamment la densité, l'épaisseur, le drapé, la résistance à l'effilochage, la stabilité et la résistance à l'abrasion.
