Apparatus and method for in-vivo plasmapheresis utilizing a plurality of elongated hollow microporous filter fibers periodically interrupt diffusion of blood plasma from a patient, and, for a selected time, backflush fluid into the fibers at a pressure and interval sufficient to cleanse the fiber pores, after which plasma diffusion is resumed.

L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé de plasmaphérèse in-vivo utilisant plusieurs fibres de filtration microporeuses allongées et creuses, ledit procédé consistant à interrompre périodiquement la diffusion du plasma sanguin d'un patient, et, pendant une durée sélectionnée, à procéder au reflux du fluide dans les fibres à une pression et selon un intervalle suffisants pour nettoyer les pores des fibres, avant la reprise de la diffusion du plasma.
