An apparatus for increasing the flexibility of and straightening wooden flooring strips of the type having a top surface having a decorative finish and a base surface opposed to the top surface. The base surface has a multiplicity of closely spaced-apart scores extending into the flooring strip from the base surface transverse to the length of the flooring strip along substantially the entire length of the flooring strip to relieve stress and increase flexibility in the wood strip for more closely adhering to irregularities of a sub-floor. The apparatus has an infeed zone for feeding flooring strips downstream from an upstream processing station and an outfeed zone for discharging the flooring strips to a downstream processing station. A conveyor conveys the flooring strips downstream from the infeed zone to the outfeed zone. Bending rollers are positioned between the infeed zone and the outfeed zone for applying a progressive bend to the flooring strips as they move downstream on the conveyor of a magnitude to break a quantity of wood fibers in the flooring strip sufficient to equalize tension between the top surface and base surface to thereby straighten the flooring strip along its length.
Appareil pour augmenter la souplesse des lames de parquet et les redresser. Les lames présentent une surface supérieure à fini décoratif et une surface de base opposée. La surface de base comprend de nombreuses entailles rapprochées se prolongeant sur la lame depuis la surface de base transversalement à la longueur de la lame de parquet essentiellement sur l'entière longueur de la lame afin de relâcher les contraintes et d'augmenter la souplesse de la lame de façon à permettre une meilleure adhésion aux inégalités d'un faux-plancher. L'appareil comprend une zone d'entrée pour alimenter en aval les lames de parquet depuis un poste de traitement en amont et une zone de sortie pour décharger les lames à un poste de traitement en aval. Un convoyeur transporte les lames en aval depuis une zone d'entrée à une zone de sortie. Pendant le trajet des lames en aval sur le convoyeur, des rouleaux à flexion, situés entre les zones d'entrée et de sortie, appliquent sur ces lames une courbure progressive d'une valeur permettant de briser une quantité de fibres ligneuses de la lame et suffisante pour équilibrer les contraintes entre la surface supérieure et la surface de base de façon à redresser la lame sur la longueur.
