ABSTRACT The apparatus assists a person in drawing marks that can stimulate the imagination and can be elaborated upon to develop an original drawing. The apparatus consists of a substantially cylindrical shape that is upright, open-ended and hollow, having a panel fixed across its upper end, the panel having an orifice in its center area. The apparatus is used by inserting the drawing tip of a drawing marker through the orifice of the panel; positioning the drawing marker,now projecting from both sides of the orifice, so that its drawing tip is essentially even with the open bottom end of the cylindrical shape; placing the apparatus with its open bottom end downward upon a drawing surface so that the tip of the drawing marker is in contact with the drawing surface; grasping and manipulatingthe entire apparatus with one hand while the other hand manipulates the drawing marker; moving the drawing marker and the apparatus either simultaneously or alternately and according to patterns of personal choice thus applying marks to the drawing surface. The resulting marks cannot be seen when applied and therefore cannot be totally controlled. They are in effect fresh and spontaneousin appearance. The quality of these marks make them a possible source of inspiration for the artist's imagination and from them he or she can elaborate an original drawing.
