A lighting apparatus for installation through a hole in a ceiling is disclosed. The lighting apparatus has a housing, a frame designed to rest on the upper surface of the ceiling and at least one retention cable secured to the frame that passes through the opening in the frame and the hole in the ceiling to temporarily retain the frame against the upper surface of the ceiling while sliding the lamp housing through the ceiling and the opening in the frame. A method for installing a lighting fixture is also disclosed.

Un appareil d'éclairage destiné à être installé dans un trou du plafond. L'appareil d'éclairage comporte un boîtier, un cadre conçu pour être déposé sur la surface interne du plafond et au moins un câble de fixation, fixé au cadre et qui passe par l'ouverture dans le cadre et le trou dans le plafond pour tenir temporairement le cadre contre la partie interne du plafond lorsque l'on fait glisser le boîtier dans la lampe dans le plafond et l'ouverture du cadre. Le brevet comporte aussi une méthode d'installation du luminaire.
