An apparatus for installing a decryption key is initially arranged so that a decryption algorithm received by a control processor (312) is passed via a first interface path to a decryption processor. The algorithm is installed in the decryption processor together with a program decryption key (328). The apparatus is subsequently arranged so that encrypted working decryption keys received by the control processor are passed on the decryption processor over the first interface path. The decryption processor decrypts the encrypted keys using the program decryption key. Decryption keys are thus obtained and are transferred (352) via a second interface path to decryptors for use in decrypting encrypted program signals input to the decryptors.
L'invention concerne un appareil, destiné à installer une clé de décodage, conçu initialement de façon qu'un algorithme de décodage reçu par un processeur de commande (312) passe par une première voie d'interface pour arriver au processeur de décodage. L'algorithme est installé dans le processeur de décodage en même temps qu'une clé de décodage de programme (328). L'appareil est aussi conçu de façon à ce que des clés de décodage codées reçues par le processeur de commande passent par dessus la première voie d'interface pour arriver au processeur de décodage. Le processeur de décodage décode les clés codées en utilisant la clé de décodage de programme. Les clés de décodage sont ainsi obtenues et transférées (352) via une seconde voie d'interface aux décodeurs aux fins d'utilisation de décodage de signaux codés de programmes arrivant à ces décodeurs.
