A helically wound and helically ribbed plastic tubing incorporating an electrically conductive wire and an~~ apparatus and method for making the tubing are disclosed. A plastic ribbon is wound about an axis into a tube with one edge of each lap overlapping and heat-bonded to an edge of the preceding lap as the tubing is rotated; a conductive wire is embedded in the ribbon; and a bead is applied and heat-sealed onto the tubing, encapsulating the conductive wire during rotation of the tubing, providing a unitary structure including a conductive wire integral to a flexible tubing having a corrugated crevice-free outside and a smooth inside. Coolant is applied to the tubing for cooling the unitary ribbon, wire and bead tubing and to assist in advancing the tubing along the axis.
Cette invention se rapporte à un tube en plastique enroulé hélicoïdalement et nervuré hélicoïdalement (18), dans lequel est incorporé un fil électroconducteur (38), ainsi qu'à un appareil (10) et à un procédé de fabrication de ce tube (18). A cet effet, un ruban en plastique (28) est enroulé autour d'un axe jusqu'à former un tube. Pendant la rotation du tube, l'un des bords de chaque tour de ruban vient chevaucher un bord du tour de ruban précédent, auquel il est thermosoudé; un fil conducteur (38) est incorporé dans le ruban; et une nervure (32) est appliquée et thermoscellée sur le tube, de façon à enrober le fil conducteur (38) pendant la rotation du tube (18), afin de former une structure unitaire comportant un fil conducteur (38) faisant partie intégrante d'un tube flexible (18), lequel présente une face externe ondulée sans fissure et une face interne lisse. Un réfrigérant est appliqué sur le tube (18) afin de refroidir la structure unitaire du tube composé du ruban, du fil et de la nervure, et afin de contribuer à faire avancer le tube (18) le long de l'axe d'enroulement.
