A dovetail joint jig (20) for guiding a power tool for creating a dovetail slot (104) in a first workpiece (92) and a dovetail pin (99) in a second workpiece (91) includes a body portion (31) having a slot portion (25) and a pin portion (26). The slot portion includes side projections (27, 28) which define a clearance space (29). A tapered router bit (102) is guided along the inner edge of the side projections to create a dovetail slot. The pin portion includes a slot-shaped portions (98) whose planar shape coincides with the shape of the slot to be created and coincides with the shape of the tapered router bit. A cylindrical router bit (96) is guided around the edge of the pin portion to remove material from the second workpiece and leave a dovetail pin which matches the dovetail slot.
L'invention concerne un gabarit (20) pour assemblages à queue d'aronde permettant de guider un outil à moteur de façon à créer une rainure (104) en queue-d'aronde dans une première pièce à usiner (92) et un tenon en queue-d'aronde (99) dans une seconde pièce à usiner. Ledit gabarit comporte une partie corps (31) pourvue d'une partie fendue (25), et une partie en pointe (26). La partie fendue comprend des bras latéraux (27, 28) définissant une zone de tolérance (29). Une mèche de toupie<u> </u>tronconique (102) est guidée le long du côté intérieur des bras latéraux pour créer une rainure en queue-d'aronde. La partie en pointe comporte une partie en forme de rainure (98) dont la surface plane coïncide avec la forme de la rainure à créer et celle de la mèche de toupie tronconique. Une mèche de toupie cylindrique (96) est guidée autour du bord de la partie en pointe de manière à retirer de la matière de la seconde pièce à usiner et à laisser un tenon en queue d'aronde correspondant à la rainure en queue d'aronde.
