More particularly, the method for producing rolls of the Z-folded closed zipper open web film from a web of flexible material having at least one male and at least one female zipper element spaced apart thereon includes apparatus which advances the web in a direction of web movement engaging the web, folds the web, the folding being adapted to bring the male and female zipper elements into opposing relationship and form a folded edge above the zipper elements. The opposing male and female zipper elements are then interlocked whereby a folded lip is defined in the web between the zipper elements and first and second web panels are defined in portions of the web below the zipper elements. The folded lip is urged to fold substantially flat against one of the web panels and the first and second web panels are unfolded and wound into a roll.
