An apparatus for manufacturing a cable bolt includes a rotatably driven pay- out reel (20) for paying out a cable (1) coiled in use about the pay-out reel (20). An upstream accumulator (40) is located downstream of the pay-out reel (20) for accu-mulating cable (1) advanced from the pay-out reel (20). A bulb forming device (80) is located downstream of the upstream accu-mulator (40), for forming a bulb (2) in cable (1) advanced from the upstream accumulator (40). A cable drive (60) is located downstream of the upstream accumulator (40), for advancing cable (1) through the bulb forming device (80). The pay-out reel (20) is configured to rotate at least substantially continuously whilst the cable drive (60) is configured to advance the cable (1) af-ter formation of each bulb (2) to a position for formation of a subsequent bulb (2) in the cable. The cable drive (60) stops a central portion (1b) of the cable downstream of the upstream accumulator (40) for formation of the subsequent bulb (2), the upstream ac-cumulator accumulating or decumulating an upstream portion (Ia) of the cable (1) as required throughout operation of the appara-tus to allow at least substantially continuous rotation of the pay-out reel (20) whilst the central portion (1b) of the cable (1) is sta-tionary.
L'invention concerne un appareil et procédé de fabrication d'un étrier en câble, comprenant une bobine débitrice (20) entraînée en rotation servant à dévider un câble (1) enroulé, en cours d'utilisation, autour de la bobine débitrice (20). Un accumulateur amont (40) est situé en aval de la bobine débitrice (20) en vue d'accumuler du câble (1) amené depuis la bobine débitrice (20). Un dispositif (80) de formation de renflements est situé en aval de l'accumulateur amont (40) afin de former un renflement (2) sur le câble (1) amené depuis l'accumulateur amont (40). Un organe (60) d'entraînement de câble est situé en aval de l'accumulateur amont (40) afin de faire avancer le câble (1) à travers le dispositif (80) de formation de renflements. La bobine débitrice (20) est configurée de façon à tourner de façon au moins sensiblement continue tandis que l'organe (60) d'entraînement de câble est configuré de façon à avancer le câble (1) après la formation de chaque renflement (2) jusqu'à une position de formation d'un renflement (2) suivant sur le câble. L'organe (60) d'entraînement de câble immobilise une partie centrale (1b) du câble en aval de l'accumulateur amont (40) en vue de la formation du renflement (2) suivant, l'accumulateur amont accumulant ou décumulant une partie amont (Ia) du câble (1) selon le besoin pendant toute la durée d'exploitation de l'appareil afin de permettre une rotation au moins sensiblement continue de la bobine débitrice (20) tandis que la partie centrale (1b) du câble (1) est immobile.
