Pneumatic medical apparatus comprising: an inflatable appliance for positioning onto the surface of a limb and adapted to apply pressure to the limb beneath the appliance when inflated with gas; tubing for establishing a pneumatic conduit between the inflatable appliance and a pressure control means; and pressure control means for supplying the tubing with gas at a controlled pressure, wherein the pressure control means includes pulse generating means for generating a pneumatic pulse at a sensing location in the tubing by producing a variation in the pressure of the gas at the sensing location during a finite time interval, and tubing patency monitoring means adapted to sense the variation of pneumatic pressure at the sensing location and produce a tubing obstruction signal when the variation of pneumatic pressure sensed after the finite time interval exceeds a reference level.
L'invention concerne un appareil médical pneumatique. Cet appareil comprend un dispositif gonflable prévu pour être positionné à la surface d'un membre et adapté pour appliquer une pression à ce membre sous le dispositif gonflé au gaz. L'appareil comporte également des tubes prévus pour établir un circuit pneumatique entre le dispositif gonflable et un moyen de commande de pression, ainsi que des moyens de commande de pression pour alimenter les tubes en gaz à une pression contrôlée. Ce moyen de commande de pression comprend un moyen de génération d'impulsions pour générer une impulsion pneumatique à un emplacement de détection dans les tubes en faisant varier la pression du gaz, au niveau de cet emplacement de détection, pendant un intervalle de temps défini. L'appareil comprend un moyen de contrôle des X des tubes adapté pour détecter la variation de la pression pneumatique au niveau de l'emplacement de détection et produire un signal d'obstruction de tubes lors de la détection d'une variation de la pression pneumatique excédant un niveau de référence, après intervalle de temps défini.
