An apparatus and method for mounting an ultrasound transducer head module (44). The apparatus includes an insert (20) having an axial bore therein and a plurality of tabs (26) extending radially therefrom. A spacer (30) is provided and configured to fit within a void in a cast (24). The spacer (30) has a hole therein to insertably receive the insert (20). An ultrasound transmission-enhancing medium (28) is positioned within the hole in the spacer (30) and adjacent a treatment location. The ultrasound treatment head module (44) is then positioned within the insert (20) and means (48) for biasing it toward the ultrasound transmission-enhancing medium (28) is provided. A strap may be provided to secure the apparatus adjacent a body portion to be treated, with or without the existence of a cast.

L'invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé de montage d'un module (44) de tête de transducteur à ultrasons.
