An apparatus and method for preparing a pH balanced saline solution and using the saline solution for rinsing a nasal passage. The apparatus includes a container 30 having flexible sidewalls and an opening for a removable cap 20. The cap 20 has a rounded convex upper portion curving away from an opening 15 at the cap's uppermost surface and has a conduit 55 in the cap's interior, which conduit 55 extends into the container 30 when the apparatus is fully assembled or is connected to a tube 35 that extends in the container 30. A saline solution is prepared by adding sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate to distilled water. The sidewalls of the container 30, filled with the saline solution, are compressed to urge the saline solution through the conduit 55, or tube 35 and conduit 55, and through the opening 15 in the cap 20 and into a nasal passage, the cap 20 being pressed against a nostril to provide a comfortable and effective seal.
L'invention concerne un dispositif et une méthode permettant de préparer une solution saline à pH équilibré et de l'utiliser, lors du rinçage d'une voie nasale. Ce dispositif comprend un récipient (30) doté de parois flexibles et d'une ouverture pour couvercle amovible (20). Ce couvercle (20) présente une portion supérieure convexe arrondie se courbant à partir d'une ouverture (15) au niveau de la surface supérieure du couvercle, et comprend un conduit (55) à l'intérieur du couvercle. Ce conduit (55) s'étend dans le récipient (30), lorsque l'appareil est entièrement assemblé ou relié à un tube (35) qui se déploie dans ledit récipient (30). On prépare une solution saline en ajoutant du chlorure de sodium et du bicarbonate de sodium à de l'eau distillée. Les parois dudit récipient (30) rempli de la solution saline, sont comprimées pour pousser la solution à travers le conduit (55) ou le tube 35 ou le conduit (55), puis, à travers l'ouverture (15) du couvercle (20) et, enfin, dans une voie nasale. On appuie le couvercle (20) contre une narine pour créer une étanchéité efficace et non incommodante.
