ABSTRACT A female die for use in press forming workpieces comprises a longitudinally hingeable plank which hinges under the action of a male die to wrap the workpiece around the male die to conform to the shape thereof. The plank is provided with reinforcing ribs at a portion thereof whereby they do not interfere with a bearing surface for the workpiece.
