A thermoplastic material processing method and system including an integrated melting, pressurizing and dispensing unit and a regulated feed supply system to improve overall performance by only heating the amount of material needed and minimizing the time it is at raised temperatures. The system includes a compact heat exchanger consisting of a plurality of thin heater plates arranged primarily parallel and spaced closely together to form small spaces therebetween. This puts all thermoplastic material in close proximity with the heated surfaces thus improving the overall melting process. The heat exchanger can include heater plates arranged in a radial or fan orientation and a grid of thin heated fins set within a heated enclosure.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un système de traitement de matériau plastique comprenant une unité de fusion, de mise sous pression et de distribution intégrée ainsi qu'un système d'alimentation régulé destiné à améliorer les performances globales uniquement par le réchauffement de la quantité de matériau requise et par la minimisation de sa durée d'exposition à des températures élevées. Le système comprend un échangeur de chaleur compact constitué de plusieurs plaques chauffantes minces disposées sensiblement parallèles et placées à proximité les unes des autres de manière à laisser de petits espaces entre elles. Ceci permet de rapprocher tout le matériau thermoplastique des surfaces chauffées et d'améliorer ainsi le processus de fusion dans sa globalité. L'échangeur de chaleur peut comprendre des plaques chauffantes disposées radialement ou en éventail et une grille constituée d'ailettes chauffées minces placées dans une enceinte chauffée.
