A care system and associated methods are provided for alleviating patient pain, anxiety and discomfort associated with medical or surgical procedures, the system comprising: at least one patient health monitor device (12a) coupled to a patient and generating a signal reflecting at least one physiological condition of the patient; a drug delivery controller (2a) supplying one or more drugs to the patient; a memory device (14a) storing a safety data set reflecting parameters of the at least one patient physiological condition; and an electronic controller (14) interconnected between the patient health monitor, the drug delivery controller and the safety data set; wherein said electronic controller manages the application of the drugs in accord with the safety data set.
Cette invention a trait à un appareillage de soins et aux techniques afférentes visant à soulager la douleur et à diminuer l'anxiété et la sensation de malaise liées à des interventions médicales ou chirurgicales chez un patient. L'appareillage est constitué d'au moins un appareil de surveillance de l'état de santé (12a) relié au patient et produisant un signal indicatif d'au moins un état physiologique, d'une unité de commande de délivrance de médicament (2a) fournissant un ou plusieurs médicaments au patient, d'un dispositif à mémoire (14a) stockant un jeu de données de sécurité donnant un image des paramètres d'au moins un état physiologique du patient et d'une unité de commande électronique (14) raccordée à l'appareil de surveillance de l'état de santé, à l'unité de commande de délivrance de médicaments et au jeu de données de sécurité, cette unité de commande régissant la délivrance des médicaments conformément au jeu de données de sécurité.
