A apparatus and method are provided for providing a User Interface (UI) service in a multimedia system. The method includes receiving UI data from a UI server; abstracting UI data that is structuralized on an object-by-object basis, and corresponds to an input from a UI client; creating adaptive UI data by reflecting a UI environment of a device for displaying, in the abstracted UI data; and displaying the created adaptive UI data.
