Abstract: An animal rearing apparatus having removable cage sets (1,3,4) with a free space between cages laying above each other, and a service system 5 having fodder and water supply means (6-13, 16-23) and supports (25,26) for manure disposal belts, preferably at both sides. The invention covers as well the cage sets (1,3,4) as the service system (5,6-13, 16-23, 25,26) and a method for rearing animals in which they are transported in the cages in which they have been reared.
