A forced draft burner apparatus for burning a gaseous fuel while producing low levels of NOx, CO and hydrocarbon emissions comprising: a cylindrical inner burner having a tubular wall; a generally cylindrical body mounted inside the tubular wall of the inner burner; an annular flow channel (110) being defined between said body and the inner wall of said tubular section, said channel constituting a throat for oxidant gases, and having a downstream outlet for the inner burner; means (102, 106) for supplying oxidant gases to said throat of the inner burner; a divergent quarl (116) for said inner burner having its smaller end connected to said outlet of said inner burner, and exiting into a combustion chamber; a plurality of curved axial swirl vanes (112) being mounted in said annular flow channel of the inner burner to impart swirl to said oxidant gases flowing downstream in said throat; inner burner fuel gas injection means for the inner burner being provided in said annular channel proximate to said swirl vanes for injecting said gas into the flow of oxidant gases at a point upstream of said outlet end; an outer burner surrounding at least a portion of said inner burner and including a wall spaced from the outer wall of the inner burner to define an outer burner flow channel (120) having a downstream outlet end for gases provided to said channel; means for providing a flow of oxidant into the outer burner flow channel (104, 108); and outer burner fuel gas injection means (126, 128) for the outer burner being provided in said outer burner flow channel, upstream of the outer burner outlet end.
Brûleur à air soufflé destiné à brûler un combustible gazeux tout en produisant de faibles rejets de NO¿x?, de CO et d'hydrocarbures, qui comprend un brûleur cylindrique interne doté d'une paroi tubulaire; un corps généralement cylindrique monté à l'intérieur de la paroi tubulaire du brûleur interne; un passage d'écoulement annulaire (110) défini entre le corps et la paroi interne de ladite partie tubulaire, ledit passage constituant un étranglement pour des gaz oxydants et étant doté d'un orifice de sortie en aval pour le brûleur interne; des dispositifs (102, 106) destinés à alimenter en gaz oxydant ledit étranglement du brûleur interne; une brique (116) de brûleur divergente pour le brûleur interne, dont l'extrémité la plus petite est reliée à l'orifice de sortie du brûleur interne et sort dans une chambre de combustion; une pluralité d'aubes tourbillonnaires (112) montées dans le passage d'écoulement annulaire du brûleur interne pour conférer un mouvement tourbillonnaire aux gaz oxydants coulant en aval dans ledit étranglement; des dispositifs d'injection de gaz combustibles pour le brûleur interne situés dans ledit passage annulaire à proximité des aubes tourbillonnaires, destinés à injecter lesdits gaz dans le flux de gaz oxydants à un point situé en amont de l'orifice de sortie terminal; un brûleur externe entourant au moins une partie du brûleur interne et comprenant une paroi espacée de la paroi externe du brûleur interne pour définir un passage d'écoulement (120) du brûleur externe doté d'un orifice de sortie terminal en aval pour des gaz amenés dans ledit passage; un dispositif pour entraîner un écoulement de gaz oxydant dans le passage d'écoulement (104, 108) du brûleur externe; et un dispositif (126, 128) d'injection de gaz combustible dans le brûleur externe situé dans le passage d'écoulement du brûleur externe, en amont de l'orifice de sortie terminal du brûleur externe.
