A thermostat and method for controlling the overshoot and undershoot of the temperature in a zone that are caused by an air conditioning system responsive to a change in the setpoint of the thermostat is disclosed. The thermostat includes a sensor for detecting the temperature in the zone and being adapted to generate a signal representative of the temperature. A processor for controlling the air conditioning system is communicatively coupled to the sensor and receives the signal representative of the temperature of the zone therefrom. A setpoint input device for changing the setpoint of the thermostat is communicatively coupled to the processor and is adapted to provide a signal representative of the changed setpoint to the processor. The processor controls the air conditioning system in a static condition mode during normal operations and switches the air conditioning system to a full on mode responsive to a setpoint change. The processor is adapted to generate a time based target temperature curve and to compare the target temperature with the temperature in the zone at certain time intervals after the input of the setpoint change. The air conditioning system is switched by the processor from the full on mode of operation to the static condition mode of operation when the sensed temperature in the zone equals the temperature of the target temperature curve.
Thermostat et méthode pour contrôler les surmodulations et les sous-modulations de température à l'intérieur d'une zone donnée et causées par un système de conditionnement d'air en réponse à un changement du point de consigne du thermostat. Le thermostat comporte un capteur qui détecte la température à l'intérieur de la zone donnée et qui produit un signal correspondant au niveau de température détecté. Un processeur dédié au contrôle du système de conditionnement d'air est en communication avec le capteur de température et reçoit le signal correspondant au niveau de température détecté par le capteur. Un dispositif d'entrée du point de consigne est monté en communication avec le processeur et fournit un signal correspondant au changement de point de consigne entré dans le processeur. Le processeur contrôle le système de conditionnement d'air en mode statique durant le fonctionnement normal du système et déclenche le fonctionnement par tout ou rien en réponse à un changement du point de consigne. Le processeur est conçu pour générer une courbe de température cible sur une base de temps et comparer la température cible à la température régnant à l'intérieur de la zone à intervalles réguliers après l'introduction du nouveau point de consigne. Le système de conditionnement d'air est commuté du mode de fonctionnement tout ou rien au mode statique si la température à l'intérieur de la zone est égale à la courbe de température cible.
