A method of reducing the perplexity of a speech recognition vocabulary and dynamically selecting speech recognition acoustic model sets used in a simulated telephone operator apparatus. The directory of users of the telephone network is subdivided into subsets wherein each subset contains the names of users within a certain location or exchange. A speech recognition vocabulary database is compiled for each subset and the appropriate database is loaded into the speech recognition apparatus in response to a requested call to the location covered by the subset. Furthermore, a site-specific acoustic model set is dynamically loaded according to the location of a calling party. An apparatus for carrying out the method is also discussed.
Cette invention concerne un procédé permettant de réduire la complexité du vocabulaire de reconnaissance de la parole et de sélectionner dynamiquement des ensembles de modèles acoustiques de reconnaissance de la parole utilisé dans un appareil de simulation des fonctions d'opérateur téléphonique. L'annuaire des usagers du réseau téléphonique est divisé en sous-ensembles contenant chacun les noms des utilisateurs associés à une localisation donnée ou à un central donné. Une base de données contenant le vocabulaire de reconnaissance de la parole est compilée pour chaque sous-ensemble et la base de données appropriée est chargée dans le dispositif de reconnaissance de la parole en réponse à un appel demandé vers la localisation couverte par le sous-ensemble. En outre, un ensemble de modèles acoustiques spécifiques d'un site est chargé dynamiquement conformément à la localisation d'un appelant. L'invention concerne également le dispositif nécessaire à la mise en oeuvre du procédé décrit ci-dessus.
